Frequently Asked Questions

How does debt consolidation with Paylink work?

We want to make paying off existing debt easy for you. When you choose debt consolidation as loan purpose, we’ll connect you to our entrusted partner, Paylink. With your consent, they’ll use your loan to pay off the accounts you’ve selected on your behalf.

Can I choose which debts to pay off?
Yes, you’re in control. Paylink will show you a list of debts found on your credit file. You select which debts you want to clear. Paylink handles the rest.

How long does the process take?
Paylink usually settles debts within 5 working days after you select them. They will contact your lenders and request settlement quotes. If the details you’ve entered are not correct, they’ll contact you and the process might take longer.

Will Paylink call me?
Paylink may call you from 0800 952 0427 (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm). They do this if they need more information or to confirm your details. If Paylink can’t reach you for 3 consecutive days, they won’t proceed with your debt consolidation and return your loan to us.

What happens to leftover money from my loan?
Paylink sends any remaining funds straight to your bank account after paying off your chosen debts.

Who can I contact if I have questions?
If you’ve successfully submitted your details to Paylink, and you haven’t heard back from them you can contact their friendly support team at:refi-support@experian.com or call: 0800 952 0427 (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm).
